Here is a simple DIY Face Scrub you can make at home this weekend. Recently I found myself without a drop of exfoliating scrub in the house, honestly how did I let this happen?! So I whipped up this natural version with ingredients I had in the pantry – really easy and seriously my skin felt so happy afterwards.
1tbs rolled oats -ground
1 tbs coconut oil
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp sugar
Grind up the rolled oats (I used a mortar and pestle) mix in the coconut oil, lemon juice and sugar to a paste. I prefer normal sugar, but if you have sensitive skin try caster sugar for a finer granule that is less abrasive on your skin. It is a little messy to apply as the oats rub off – but you are left with such a dewy, clean-feeling complexion that feels super hydrated, thanks to the benefits of the coconut oil.
I have made several batches of this and find if you store in a cool dark place out of the sun, it will keep for up to four weeks. This makes enough for about four applications. The best thing about this formula, is you can play around with the quantities depending on your skins needs, eg. If you are quite dry add more oil, congested =more granules etc. Just adjust accordingly you can’t really go wrong.
